I went to see Dr Bryan To as a new patient with an extensive and complex medical history. It took a little over a month to get in to see him, so I called to make sure he had all the paperwork he would need to get my medical records before I came in. I have ongoing treatment that needs prescription refills and referrals that would need to be handled quickly because of the long wait to see him. He did not send out for my medical records.
His office staff was friendly and the office was clean. I was told to arrive 15 mins early to my appointment and still waited about 45 mins past my appointment time to see the doctor.
He did not introduce himself. He never examined me physically, did not even listen to my heart or lungs. While I was trying to show him some of the issues that needed to be addressed he never even looked up from the computer. He only wrote for 3 of my many referrals, according to him “so it would not confuse the office staff”? I have access to the majority of my medical records online and had them ready to view on my phone, including current bloodwork results done less than a week before that he really needed to look at. He refused to look and said he needed them in paper form. Then he walked out of the room while I was still trying to go over medical issues with him. I followed him into the hall asking what to do about the other referrals and his response was “we can’t fix everything in one day”?
I carry a list of medical issues and prescriptions with me to doctor visits to make sure to cover everything; we didn’t even get through half the list. He is also not going to refill prescriptions I have been on for over 2 years because “he doesn’t prescribe that medication”? These are medications you cannot just stop taking without sever consequences. Because of my complex medical issues my case manager from my insurance company (who is an RN) even called his office about the prescriptions and he still refuses to refill them. I have seen some incompetent doctors through the course of my illness but this guy is in the top 3 worst I’ve seen yet.
